Last week I rounded up the best of White Mules to wear this season. After all of my research, I finally gave in and bought the Maryam Nassir Zadeh White Mules. I wore them last weekend with the DE SMET Button Up Convertible Dress in Starch. They worked well for a cocktail party but I am equally excited to wear them with my favorite uniform: jeans and a t-shirt. With such a neutral wardrobe, white mules brighten up any look.
White is right this season for shoes and I don’t mean sneakers and sandals. White mules are the perfect transitional shoe to pair with long dresses, denim and wide leg trousers as we ease into autumn. Whether you opt for architectural elements, or simple slides, this is the go-to-shoe of the season.

I can’t help but get excited about Spring, I mean, it’s 60 degrees in New York today. So bear with me as I discuss my go-to shoe of the season, Spring slides. I’ve been a huge fan of this shoe silhouette for years (evident here, here and here) and if you haven’t slid into these shoes, then you are truly missing out. It is one of the easiest shoes to wear, it’s in the title of the shoe itself, just slide it on and go. It also adds a laid back yet, sophisticated vibe to any look. Whether you pair it with a slim midi-skirt or cropped pant, you can’t go wrong. This season, my best friend gave me these Jon Josef slides as a birthday gift. The embossed snake-skin pattern adds a textural/print element to my otherwise solid wardrobe. Slide into Jon Josef’s at Capricious in Grosse Pointe, Michigan or visit the Jon Josef website. They are also available in black velvet and tan suede.
It’s no secret that I love Newbark slides. This summer, my fiancé gave me this double strap nude style that I’ve lived in. Newbark slides have a supported sole that makes it comfortable for walking around the city for hours. These particular slide sandals have a hidden bar that sits in between your toes to avoid sliding right out of them. If you don’t already own a pair of slide sandals, you’re missing out on the most effortlessly stylish shoe of the season. Shop my favorite Newbark slide sandals below.

As soon as the babouche slipper made an appearance on the toes of Céline models for Resort, we knew this would be the shoe of the year. I want them in every color, but for now, I put together a babouche slipper roundup of black (or mostly black) styles ranging in price from $28 – $790. See if you can tell the difference.
