December List

This month is filled with so many events it was hard to make my December list. Here are some of the things I am looking forward to the most!December 2013, Holiday brunch | desmitten

Hosting holiday brunch with friends and trying some festive cocktail recipes from 1-2 Simple Cooking.

December 2013, Richard Serra at the Gogosian Gallery | desmitten

Taking a moment out of the busiest month of the year to enjoy the Richard Serra exhibit at the Gagosian Gallery.

December 2013, Trimming the tree with popcorn garland | desmitten

Yesterday my boyfriend and I celebrated our 6th year anniversary by baking sugar cookies and decorating our Christmas tree. Growing up my Mom and I always strung popcorn for garland, now my boyfriend and I are keeping the tradition alive.

December 2013, Shopping for gifts at provisions | desmitten

Finishing up my holiday shopping on the Provisions website. Half the people I buy gifts for are self-proclaimed chefs, or at a point in their lives when they don’t want more “stuff” so I love to get them unexpected ingredients, exotic herbs and local artisanal food.

December 2013, Rag & Bone Leather Weekender Bag | desmitten

Traveling home for the holidays for the first time since last Christmas. Do you think I can pass off my new Rag & Bone Bag as my “personal item” and still have a small rolling suitcase as my carry on?

What are you looking forward to most this month?

Pre-Fall 2011 Recap

Pre-Fall collections are some of my favorites because they are just a little taste of Fall. They have the best pieces from both Spring and Fall collections. Here are some of my favorites from Pre-Fall 2011.

Rag&Bone: Borthwick Photos

While doing some research yesterday, I stumbled upon a lovely collection of photographs taken by Mark Borthwick for Rag & Bone.

The photos exude a sense of living in the beautifully tailored Rag & Bone clothing. I love the sense of wonder and mystery in these photos.

I hope these inspire you to create something beautiful.

SPRING 09 FASHION WEEK PART 1

New York is crawling with models, buyers and editors from all over the world which means Fashion Week is upon us!

While in Bryant Park I saw a few celebs… Winona Ryder, Christina Ricci and Nicole Richie. I was only able to snap a photo of Nicole… she is so cute in person!

I have been looking at the photos from the Spring 2009 shows as they are posted on Style.com.

Here are some of my favorite looks from each collection so far:

TROVATA SPRING 2009

Simple color palette and great silhouettes!

SUE STEMP SPRING 2009

Beautiful separates and great headbands!

ELIE TAHARI SPRING 2009

I love the prints and I wish I could walk down the street wearing super hot pants and a blazer!

RACHEL ROY SPRING 2009

I love the fullness in the skirts and the drapy jumpsuit! Also, LOVE the black and white shoes!

NICOLE MILLER SPRING 2009

A nice change from most of the collections… Bright colors and prints!

UNITED BAMBOO SPRING 2009

I love the muted tons and the slouchy sophisticated silhouettes!

ROCK & REPUBLIC SPRING 2009

Short black and studded, very rock & roll!

ALEXANDER WANG SPRING 2009

One of my favorite collections for Spring, easy fabrics and great styling!
