NYDC Fun!

The New York Design Center was the place to be last night! The What’s New, What’s Next event was a success! I was enchanted in the lovely lap of Laserow, where I met fellow bloggers and got a crash course in Swedish antiques. Founder, Karin Laserow showed me around the showroom pointing out each piece and what period it was from (they focus on Rococo, Gustavian, Empire and Baroque periods), and they quizzed me at the end! Karin has been in the business for 32 years, and her daughter Liza runs the New York Showroom at the NYDC. After sitting with them for only a few minutes, it was evident that they are passionate about this business. I was fascinated by their down to earth perspective on antiques, the chairs must be comfortable and you must be able to live your daily life with these pieces. The way they mix the antique furniture with modern upholstery was refreshing.

I look forward to seeing the outcome of some of Liza’s Interior Design projects she is working on now!

 I was amazed by all of the beautiful/industrial lighting options!

@ 200 Lex This Afternoon!

Come and join me and other bloggers this afternoon at the New York Design Center to look at the new home furnishings for the season! I will be in the Laserow Antiques showroom from 4-5pm and then I will be mingling around the 4th floor for the rest of the evening. Visit me and view my workspace created using Laserow Antiques and a few of my own touches. Looking forward to the event and I hope you can make it!

What’s New, What’s Next

After a fantastic fashion week winds down, the next big event is What’s New, What’s Next @ 200 Lex!  I am joining other “New Curators” on the 4th floor of the New York Design Center to share ideas and curate our own workspace in our assigned showrooms. I am looking forward to this fantastic event and hoping that you will all join in on the festivities! Please RSVP!

Found Treasures of the Week

This has been a busy week, so I have tons to share!

Yesterday was my first trip to the New York Design Center. A mecca for interior designers, the 16 story building is filled with showrooms featuring wall coverings to interior accessories that can double as art! I was invited to be a part of the NYDC, What’s New, What’s Next @200 LEX on September 22nd. I would like to invite all of you to the event! From 4-5pm I will be setting up my own desk space in the Laserow Antiques Showroom (fantastic Swedish antiques!) and visiting with you! The rest of the evening will be spent browsing the rest of the floor for my own apartment inspiration!

 I took pieces from 1st Dibs Laserow Antiques and created an inspirational workspace…

 

(I love the French Glass Washers that look like crowns, they would make great storage!)

I also bopped into a favorite old trim store that had been at the back of my mind, Tinsel Trading Company. The vintage trims and antique store fixtures were refreshing from the overcrowded chain stores.  If you haven’t been there, you MUST GO! It is guaranteed to inspire!
