Usual NY Suspects

New York fashion week was a whirlwind! And I ran off to a wedding for 4 days right after, so I apologize for the slow posts the last few weeks. Here are my favorite looks from NYFW, including my usual favorite designers, Rachel Comey, A Detacher, Karen Walker, Proenza Schouler, Rebecca Taylor, Suno, Jil Stuart, Reed Krakoff…

Drawn to the earthy tones, seasonless prints and easy silhouettes of the looks below, I don’t want to wait until Spring 2012 to wear them! Most translate to Fall quite nicely…

3 Fall Runway Trends to Wear For Spring!

I’ve been digesting the New York Fashion Shows and I am anxious to wear some of the trends that were on the runway.

At Jill Stuart, color blocking dominated the runway in a feminine way, while Proenza Schouler blocked colors asymmetrical. Either way, it looked fresh and I can’t wait to wear it to wear it this Spring, which is only mere weeks away…

We see more and more sheer pieces each season, and if you are willing to take the risk, head to toe sheer can be edgy, sexy and cool without being over the top! This trend translates nicely to Spring/Summer especially during those sweltering days in July! Layer sheers to create different levels of opaque, neutrals are best for this trend…

Rag&Bone Top. Asos Top. T by A Wang Dress.Kain Top.

Wearing head to toe white is usually something we see in Spring shows only, but a ton of designers did an all white look for Fall 2011. Maybe it was used as a palette cleanser… Whatever the reason, I love a LWD, any time of year.

I just found this editorial via Cartoon Styles that shows these trends for Spring…

SPRING 09 FASHION WEEK PART 1

New York is crawling with models, buyers and editors from all over the world which means Fashion Week is upon us!

While in Bryant Park I saw a few celebs… Winona Ryder, Christina Ricci and Nicole Richie. I was only able to snap a photo of Nicole… she is so cute in person!

I have been looking at the photos from the Spring 2009 shows as they are posted on Style.com.

Here are some of my favorite looks from each collection so far:

TROVATA SPRING 2009

Simple color palette and great silhouettes!

SUE STEMP SPRING 2009

Beautiful separates and great headbands!

ELIE TAHARI SPRING 2009

I love the prints and I wish I could walk down the street wearing super hot pants and a blazer!

RACHEL ROY SPRING 2009

I love the fullness in the skirts and the drapy jumpsuit! Also, LOVE the black and white shoes!
