In New York, we are having the first real Spring in years, and I can’t get enough of it. I truly believe that Fall and Spring are the seasons when you get the most out of your wardrobe. You can wear boots with dresses, sandals with jeans and your entire collection of lightweight jackets. The past few weeks were filled with tons of inspiration gathering for an upcoming punk inspired photo shoot, dining outside and picnics in the park.

The past week was filled with preparing for the Frida Kahlo shoot, taking a day trip upstate, getting the apartment ready for my Mom to arrive and a studio visit with Tableaux Vivants, where I learned to make latex collars.

Our upstate weekend got derailed due to a few last-minute projects, but it turned into one of those perfectly unplanned New York City weekends. The weather was on our side and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, setting the scene for bike rides, enjoying drinks outside with friends, and hanging out in Prospect Park. Spring 2013: On Neutral Ground

It’s no secret that neutrals define the majority of my wardrobe and my lifestyle. Today I pulled together some of the neutrals that are inspiring me for Spring 2013. The Creatures of Comfort Spring look book, my new No. 6 clog sandals, Essie Penny Talk nail color, a Vintage Agate Coaster and a rock found on Sound Beach this weekend. It’s a coincidence that the two new members of our family, Odin and Miles also fit into my neutrally hued lifestyle.

The past few weeks have been busy to say the least! My days were full with various coffee shop meetings, custom stamp designing, upstate travel, unearthing treasures in Williamsburg and lining up my fashion week schedule, all the while trying to keep warm!

1: Totally inspired by the gold foil cap on top of our Doc’s Hard Apple Cider, I’ve started a collection for a future DIY / 2: Braving the frigid temps by layering a sweater dress over black skinny jeans (worn with Zara boots) / 3: Bundled up in my favorite Pendleton scarf / 4: Wall of rubber stamps at Casey’s in the East Village / 5&6: Great deals at Beacon’s Closet, couldn’t pass up a pair of No.6 clog sandals, a Cacharel camel sweater and a pair of Marni sandals with a touch of leucite and wood heel / 7: Mociun’s amazing black and white ceramic dishes / 8: A new favorite coffee (where I get Chai) shop in Nolita, Gasoline Alley / 9: Watch + Chain + KJL Bangle = my current arm candy
