I live and die for my black handbag, I wear it with everything and carry it everywhere, short of a black tie event. Around this time of year, I am always anxious for a change in handbag scenery. This fleshy, peachy color that everyone deems natural, looks and feels fresh for summer, while the shapes are like small sculptures hanging from your shoulder.

In New York, we are having the first real Spring in years, and I can’t get enough of it. I truly believe that Fall and Spring are the seasons when you get the most out of your wardrobe. You can wear boots with dresses, sandals with jeans and your entire collection of lightweight jackets. The past few weeks were filled with tons of inspiration gathering for an upcoming punk inspired photo shoot, dining outside and picnics in the park.

While at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens last week, I saw a variety of tulips, but none as fantastic as this one.
I always love the little black lace bra as a layering piece. I tend to wear mine under a loose tank come summer time.
Straw hats for summer days spent on the beach are a must.

Last week when my Mom was in town, we spent a day at the Natural History Museum. I found endless inspiration in the Gem and Mineral wing of the museum, which I could’ve spent the entire day exploring. Apparently, I’m not the only one who finds inspiration in what the world naturally develops. Here are some of my photos from the museum paired with quartz accessories to adorn your home and your body.
Mother’s Day is all about our Moms of course, but we can’t forget about our friends who are starting their own families. I’ve enlisted my very stylish friend, Julia Gelfgatt who is expecting her first child, to give us her ultimate Mother-to-be must haves. Julia is a Brooklyn, New York based jewelry designer who launched her collection, Raia (named after her grandmother) last year. Julia wears her Constellation Bracelet in the photo below.
1: A weekend getaway to Montauk & a stay at Ruschmeyer’s or Sole East Resort. “I would love to relax and enjoy some one on one time with my husband before our little girl is born and our lives change drastically.”
2: A Détacher Sandals. “Because I have a sandal addiction and as my belly grows and I wear more simple clothing silhouettes, the shoes and accessories become more important, and comfort is key, especially since I live in New York and walk everywhere.”
3. Eatable of Many Orders Tin Bag. “A great over the shoulder bag so that my hands can be free to carry and play with our baby girl.”
4: Aromatherapy Set with essential oil scents like lavender & orange spice. “These scents are calming and can help me relax before and during labor, Eden’s Garden has a high grade organic essential oil gift set that’s very affordable.”
5: A Prenatal Massage or an Acupuncture Treatment. “To relax and balance my body in preparation for birth, also great for relieving aches and pains from carrying extra weight.”
This week my Mom is in town, which is fantastic! Although it left me postless yesterday, so I apologize. This weekend is all about easy tees, sunnies and angular jewelry. Yesterday I hit two major sample sales, Creatures of Comfort (read my review here) and Elizabeth & James (read my review here) where I picked up some key pieces for my weekend look. I love my new Elizabeth & James dark green tortoise sunnies, they couldn’t be more perfect for my summer wardrobe.
(Side note: remember my post about ethnic rugs? We finally found a vintage Turkish rug for the office., pictured here)
