As you know, the hunt for non-toxic hair products is a long and torturous one. I’ve tested almost ten different brands and found the Perfect Hair Day line of Living Proof hair products, outshine the rest. After discussing my hair type (thick, easily weighed down, dry ends) with the Living Proof team, these are the products they suggested, and here are my findings…
It’s no surprise that I love the minimal clean packaging, but what I love most about the packaging is the sueded finish texture of the bottle. It makes it easy to hold onto in the shower (while also dressing up your shower shelf).
Living Proof, Perfect Hair Day Shampoo: The fresh, semi-citrus scent of the shampoo is light and doesn’t overpower your hair after it is rinsed out. For shampoo with no sulfates, it lathers up nicely with minimal arm movement (unlike some non-toxic shampoos that take a full upper body workout just to get some suds). So far, this is the best non-toxic shampoo that I’ve tried.
Living Proof, Perfect Hair Day Conditioner: Another fresh semi-citrus scented product. With other conditioners, I would condition my hair before shampooing, to get a clean rinse with no filmy residue at the end of my shower. With the Living Proof conditioner, there was no need to shampoo after conditioning. The formula was thick, but rinsed out easily from my thick locks, with no weighty residue left behind. I would highly recommend this conditioner for those of you who are faced with the,”Did I rinse out all of my conditioner” question, while blowdrying your hair.
Living Proof, Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment: I usually air dry my hair, but recently because of the frigid weather, I am blowdrying more often than not. Since the usage instructions suggest blow drying for best results, I obeyed. After using the 5-in-1 styling treatment, my hair was all the things it promised: smooth, voluminous, polished and conditioned. I’m not sure if it strengthened my hair since I’ve only been using it for a few weeks, but I will let you know if I notice a difference.
Overall, I was impressed by the Perfect Hair Day collection of Living Proof Hair Products. I would suggest ordering the travel set as a trial. It’s also great to bring when you go away for a special occasion. Silky, smooth shiny hair is the best accessory.
