Last week I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at the new Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn boutique, Sincerely Tommy. A minimal, sleek space with a warm, inviting atmosphere adorned with specialty pieces for your home and wardrobe. As the only boutique in the neighborhood, it is more than just a shop, but a café and a place to mingle with other creatives. The owner, Kai Avent-deLeon, grew up in the neighborhood, so her thoughtful assortment of women’s apparel, home goods, jewelry and accessories fit perfectly with the ever-changing community. She focuses on carrying smaller, new designers, some Brooklyn based, as well as worldly treasures from her travels. As I browsed the racks of clothing, I was drawn in by the fresh designs, luxe fabrics and reasonable price points. There is something for everyone at this store, so even if you don’t live in the neighborhood, it is worth the trip to Brooklyn.
