NYFW Prep: Styling Inspiration

The biggest question leading up to New York Fashion week is “What am I going to wear?!” This year is no different. My NYFW prep always involves pulling styling inspiration from my archive of images. My top three styling inspiration ideas this season…

1. Simple tee + skinny scarf combination (as seen in the Spring 2013 issue of The Gentlewoman). Nothing dresses up like your favorite slouchy tee like a skinny silk scarf.

2. Taking layering and proportion ques from the men (as seen on the Spring 2015 Christophe Lemaire menswear runway). Long over long looks fresh, especially when keeping a monochrome look.

3. Outerwear as tops (as seen on Marine Deleeuw for Thankoon Addition’s Fall 2013 lookbook). Who doesn’t love a piece that does double duty? Forgo the under layer and tuck your favorite trench, vest or blazer into an asymmetrical skirt. Just be sure to button up.
