July List

My July list is made up of the things consuming my mind this month. From socially responsible shopping, to traveling and packing the perfectly edited suitcase.

To Do // With a few summer getaways planned, packing the most versatile, yet edited suitcase is on the forefront of my mind, so stay tuned for more on the subject, later this month. In the meantime, I’m ogling the Mansur Gavriel backpack and tote bag as great carry-on options, available on their newly launched e-shop.

To See // Since I’ll be traveling to Detroit in a few weeks, I look forward to stopping by the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) to view Bruce Weber’s Detroit exhibit. “There’s a freedom there that doesn’t exist anywhere else.” Weber said of Detroit. I love to hear about the amazing things happening in Detroit, and an exhibit by Bruce Weber, co-sponsored by Condé Nast is a great gift to the city.

To Shop // My friend Elizabeth, over at The Note Passer, has taken on the challenge to only buy ethically produced pieces for her wardrobe, for an entire year. While this is too challenging for me (I’ll stick to my 5 Piece French Wardrobe), I came across Master & Muse, a site that would make this challenge a little less, well, challenging. Amber Valetta, a supermodel who came of age in the 90’s and continues to model and act today, started Master & Muse with Yoox.com. Her site is a platform to buy brands that are socially responsible and provide more sustainable options in a world of throw away fast fashion, something every designer should strive for.

To Wear // Sporty lingerie. While I haven’t totally embraced the whole sporty trend, I do love a comfortable bra, without underwire, for the summer and this black and white bra from Triangl gives off a sporty vibe I can get behind.
