This year we are ringing in the New Year, roaring 20′s style in an all out Great Gatsby inspired bash. I was stuck in Detroit longer than expected, leaving me only today to make my flapper dress for the New York City festivities this evening. Thankfully, I borrowed a few head piece options from Rita Watson, the designer of Chiefs of Enchantment weeks ago. No paper or plastic sparkle New Year’s crowns at this party, only head pieces made of vintage rhinestones, pearls, silk ribbon and lace. No time to bead my dress, but these 1920′s dresses are my silhouette inspiration. I’ve got a black velvet burnout fabric waiting to be draped into something special.

I think that the centre left is my favourite – the silhouettes are so minimalist and the beading/embroidery really stand out because of it.
Have fun tonight!
